Library Books Status

All resources are systematically organized using the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) system for easy retrieval. Our physical layout comprises the following collection categories:

General Guidelines

  • Maintain silence and discipline within the library premises.
  • Carry your valid College Identity Card while using the library.
  • Library membership and borrower cards are non-transferable.
  • Mobile phones must be kept in silent mode.
  • Food, beverages, and smoking are strictly prohibited.
  • Handle library books, computers, furniture, and other resources with care.
  • Do not write in, mark, fold, or damage library materials.
  • Leave reference books on the reading tables after use; library staff will re-shelve them.
  • Follow the instructions of library staff and maintain a clean, user-friendly environment.

Borrowing Rules

  • Students may borrow a maximum of six books at a time.
  • Books must be returned on or before the due date.
  • Books may be renewed once, subject to availability and reservation status.
  • Books cannot be returned on the day of issue.
  • An overdue fine of ₹5 per book per day will be charged for late returns.
  • Lost or damaged books must be replaced with a new copy or compensated by paying double the current market value, along with the applicable fine.
  • Duplicate borrower cards will be issued on payment of the prescribed fee.

Do's

  • Maintain silence and a disciplined environment within the library.
  • Carry your valid College Identity Card while using library facilities.
  • Handle books, journals, computers, and other library resources with care.
  • Leave reference books on the designated reading tables after use.
  • Seek assistance from library staff whenever required.
  • Keep mobile phones on silent mode.
  • Use the library computers only for academic and research purposes.
  • Dispose of waste in the designated bins and help keep the library clean.

Don'ts

  • Do not damage, deface, or remove any library books, furniture, equipment, or other property.
  • Do not write, underline, highlight, fold pages, or otherwise mark library materials.
  • Do not re-shelve reference books after use; kindly leave them on the designated tables.
  • Do not consume food or beverages inside the library premises.
  • Do not engage in loud conversations, group discussions, or any activity that disturbs other users.
  • Do not use library computers for social networking, online gaming, entertainment, or other non-academic purposes.
  • Do not alter computer settings, disconnect cables, or connect unauthorized external storage devices.
  • Do not sleep or use the library as a place for rest.
