Departmental Administrative Committees

Departmental Administrative Committees of Electrical and Electronics Engineering

The process of defining and refining the Vision, Mission, and Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) of the department is carried out through a structured and participative mechanism at both departmental and college levels. To ensure alignment with the institute’s vision and mission, various statutory and non-statutory committees are constituted: Program Assessment Committee (PAC), Department Advisory Committee (DAC) and College Academic Council (CAC).

For the execution of all the activities, brainstorming sessions will be conducted among the following committees that are constituted at the Department/College level.

  • 1. Program Assessment Committee (PAC)
  • 2. Department Advisory Committee (DAC)
  • 3. College Academic Council (CAC)
  • 4. Academic Audit Committee (AAC)
  • 5. Student Interaction Committee (SIC)

The flow chart illustrates a structured academic review process in which inputs from AAC and SIC are first considered by PAC to evaluate academic performance. At the same time, inputs from AAC, PAC, and SIC are directly submitted to DAC for expert review and suggestions. The consolidated recommendations are then placed before CAC for final review and approval, ensuring continuous quality improvement and alignment with institutional goals.

Program Assessment Committee (PAC)

* The composition of the committee is valid for two academic years. 		• Defines Vision, Mission, PEOs and PSOs.
• Collecting inputs from stakeholders for achieving goals, Vision and Mission, PEOs and PSOs of the Department.
• Drafts Course Outcomes, Program Outcomes and Program Specific Outcomes.
• Attainments, deficiencies, curriculum gaps, recommendations and action plans for improvement.
• Approves and assesses reports from other committees and faculty and submits reports to DAC.

Frequency of Meeting: Twice in a semester.

Department Advisory Committee (DAC)

Members Functions
1. Head of the Department
2. Industrial Nominee
3. Senior Academician from University / other Institutions
4. Senior Faculty Members (03)

*The composition of the committee is valid for two academic years. 		• Approving authority for all Departmental activities including framing of Vision, Mission, PEOs, PSOs.
• Budget procurement and maintenance of laboratories, financial approvals and guidance.
• Identify faculty requirement and lab requirements for change in syllabus.
• Identification of trust areas and initiatives for consultancy, R&D projects, equipment and facilities.

Frequency of Meeting: Twice in a semester.

College Academic Council (CAC)

Members Functions
1. Principal
2. Heads of Departments
3. Senior Professor from other college
4. Industry Expert
5. Management Representative

*The composition of the committee is valid for one AY 		Decisions are taken on all academic matters such as Framing of Vision, Mission, PEOs, PSOs, Infrastructure, Amenities, Budget, Recruitment, Co-curricular and Extra-Curricular Activities, Student attendance and counselling.

Frequency of Meeting: Once in a semester.

Academic Audit Committee (AAC)

Members Functions
1. Head of the Department
2. Senior Faculty Members (03)

*The composition of the committee is valid for one AY 		• Curriculum monitoring and feedback from students.
• Faculty and student development programs.
• Additional facility and equipment requirements.
• Department action plan and academic calendar.
• Maintenance and ambience.
• Analyse reports from Time Table & Result Analysis Committee and Student Interaction Committee.
• Gets reports from all other internal committees and analyses them.
• Submits reports to PAC / DAC.

Frequency of Meeting: Twice in a semester.

Student Interaction Committee (SIC)

Members Functions
1. Head of the Department
2. Senior Faculty Member
3. Training and Placement Coordinator
4. Student Affairs In-charge
5. Student Representatives (04) 		• Student counseling.
• Addressing student grievances.
• Professional bodies and memberships.
• Co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
• Training and placement activities.
• Alumni
• Submit a report to PAC/DAC

Frequency of Meeting: Twice in a semester.
